The Saudi Food Show Launched By Gulfood

KAOUN International, the newly incorporated event organising company of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), and dmg events, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT), an international portfolio of information, media, and events businesses, have signed a joint venture agreement to develop an international portfolio in the food and hospitality sectors.

The newly created firm, KAOUN International, is based on DWTC’s impressive track record of organising industry-leading events, which have helped promote the UAE as well as the Middle East as a premier location for large international business events. Its roster of more than 20 corporate and consumer events covers industries like technology, cuisine and hospitality, sustainability, broadcast and satellite, automotive, talent development, and leisure marine.

The new joint venture will launch The Saudi Food & Beverage Show & The Saudi Food Manufacturing Show in Riyadh from June 20-22, 2023, as its first international market expansion. The inaugural event will be affiliated with GULFOOD Global, the largest and most trusted event brand in the global food and beverage industry.

In September 2023, the Hotel Show Saudi Arabia will be rebranded to encompass the broader hospitality, HORECA, and interiors markets. Existing food and hotel events organised by dmg in South Africa will also be transferred to the new joint venture.

The partnership between dmg and KAOUN International combines market-leading food and beverage industry events with international infrastructure and an established hotel and hospitality portfolio. dmg President Matt Denton said. “Having significantly expanded our regional and international operations in recent years, dmg shares KAOUN International’s view of the region’s high-growth opportunities,”

“Developing new markets and giving access to growing growth areas for our global food and beverage company community is our collaborative objective,” said Trixie LohMirman, EVP DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International. “Working together, dmg and KAOUN International will utilise our current complimentary expertise, networks, and brands to develop a synergistic portfolio of culinary, hotel, and hospitality events that provide much more possibilities in targeted areas.”

Matt Denton observed that our market-leading events have established centres of excellence in the culinary, lodging, and hospitality industry and will continue to serve as a gateway to the broader area.

Together, dmg and KAOUN International will generate greater value for their clients outside of Dubai by giving them with a dependable global partner that will bring its established level of knowledge and professionalism to a variety of new and developing areas.
