Nuri Grill & Bar: A Gastronomic Journey through Korean Delights in Abu Dhabi

Embarking on a culinary adventure, Nuri Grill & Bar, the latest addition to Abu Dhabi's dining scene, offers a sensational exploration of Korean cuisine. With an upscale monochrome interior, the restaurant exudes sophistication and warmth, providing a fitting backdrop for an exquisite dining experience.

Our journey begins with a personal chef guiding us through the sizzle of barbecuing striploin, expertly describing its unmatched tenderness—a texture reminiscent of spreading butter effortlessly. The ambiance is set, accompanied by an in-house DJ curating a soundtrack that complements the restaurant's efficiency.

Opting for the terrace, we are greeted with breathtaking views of Yas Bay Waterfront, Al Raha Beach, and beyond. The menu, dominated by authentic South Korean dishes, tempts us with intriguing names like galbi tang, Nuri haejang guk, dongchimi guksu, and bibim guksu.

While Nuri stays true to its South Korean roots, there are subtle nods to global influences, such as tacos and corn dogs, reflecting the diverse culinary landscape of Abu Dhabi.

Grilled meats take center stage, with an enticing 12-course omakase-style menu for those seeking a chef's curated experience. Our choice is the Butcher's Feast, a four-cut package offering exceptional value at Dh250 per person.

The banquet unfolds, featuring ban-chan, a variety of pickled seasonal vegetables, salads, soups, and grilled cuts, accompanied by an array of seasonings. Each dish showcases the richness and robust flavors synonymous with Korean cuisine.

The ribeye cap, galbi (short rib), and striploin, cooked tableside, steal the spotlight. The meats, seasoned with an assortment of salts, provide a symphony of flavors—fiery, sharp, crunchy, and zesty—creating a memorable dining experience.

As the evening progresses, a personal buffet emerges, offering a delightful medley of textures and tastes. The snow bingsu dessert, with red bean and coconut-topped ice, concludes our feast with frozen cream that melts on the tongue.

Chef Roy Kim's passion for pan-Asian cuisine is evident in every dish, with a special emphasis on soy sauce, a key ingredient in his culinary creations.

Nuri Grill & Bar stands as a testament to Abu Dhabi's evolving gastronomic landscape, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, making it a must-visit for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

Standout Dish: The steaks on a plane grill with four types of salt to season at will are the knockout dish of the night, showcasing the pinnacle of culinary expertise.

A Chat with Chef Roy: Chef Roy, hailing from South Korea, brings nearly two decades of culinary experience to Nuri Grill & Bar. His deep-rooted passion for Asian cuisine, refined at renowned Dubai establishments, resonates in each dish. Soy sauce, his go-to ingredient, plays a pivotal role in enhancing flavors and remains indispensable in Asian culinary traditions.
