IHG Hotels & Resorts Introduces Vignette Collection, Curating Unique Stays in Indonesia

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to integrate Rumah Luwih Bali into its network later this year, with a complete transformation into a Vignette Collection property planned for 2024 following extensive refurbishments. The luxury colonial-style resort, renowned for its blend of heritage and hospitality, will undergo a refreshing overhaul to offer an authentic, immersive, and considerate experience, aligning with the growing Vignette Collection of distinctive properties.
Rumah Luwih Bali will join the Vignette Collection, a portfolio of unique, elegant, and captivating luxury and lifestyle hotels. Each property in the Vignette Collection is distinct yet shares a common vision of making a positive impact on people, place, and the planet. Tailored for the next generation of luxury and lifestyle travelers, each property boasts a unique personality and design, catering to discerning explorers.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for Southeast Asia and Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the brand's expansion in Indonesia and its significance in the tourism landscape. He highlighted IHG's strong presence in Bali and the introduction of the Vignette Collection brand along Bali’s East Coast in partnership with MMS Land.
Andre Chandra Biantoro, CEO of MMS Land, spoke about the distinctive character and identity that Rumah Luwih brings to the Vignette Collection. He expressed confidence in the partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts, aiming to elevate the hotel experience and attract new travelers to the resort.
Nestled amidst lush greenery with breathtaking views of Mount Agung and the ocean, Rumah Luwih Bali is a classic colonial-style Indonesian mansion featuring 74 guest rooms and suites. Situated on black sand beaches with panoramic vistas of rice paddies, this hidden gem is conveniently located within an undiscovered corner of Bali, just an hour's drive from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Facilities include a dining restaurant, swimming pool, meeting rooms, fitness center, and spa.
The surrounding shorelines offer opportunities for world-class diving and snorkeling, while the area provides tranquility for sunrise walks, cultural exploration, and eco-tourism activities, including white-water rafting, waterfalls, and surfing. Close to Mount Agung, it holds historical significance and boasts temples such as Tirta Gangga, Besakih, and the Water Palace.
