Expansion in Germany for Scandic; Venice Welcomes New Boutique Hotel

Scandic Expands German Portfolio: Scandic has finalized a long-term, revenue-based lease agreement with Pandox to assume control of a hotel in Nuremberg, Germany, in Q1 2024. Situated in Nuremberg's historic district and central station, the recently constructed hotel offers 311 rooms and event spaces accommodating up to 850 individuals. With this acquisition, Scandic will operate seven hotels across Germany, totaling 2,461 rooms.

Luxury Boutique Hotel Debuts in Venice: Collezione Em has unveiled Violino d'Oro, a luxury boutique hotel in Venice, located along the canals and near Piazza San Marco. Housed in a 17th-century building, the 32-room hotel showcases craftsmanship in glasswork, fabrics, and floors. Owned by Sara Maestrelli, the hotel features original Venetian seminato and a restaurant overlooking Campo Barozzi.

Holiday Inn Introduces Open Lobby Concept in U.A.E.: The Holiday Inn Dubai Business Bay, the newest addition to IHG's Holiday Inn brand, has launched the first Holiday Inn Innovative Open Lobby concept in the U.A.E. The hotel, situated in Dubai's business and recreation center, offers 275 rooms and suites, meeting and event suites, a gym, an outdoor pool, a spa, a yoga room, and various dining outlets.

Gran Meliá Opens in Rome: Meliá Hotels International has inaugurated Palazzo Cordusio Gran Meliá in Milan, housed in the historic Palazzo Venezia. The hotel, featuring 84 luxury rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, a gym, an indoor pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and a relaxation lounge, is part of Assicurazioni Generali's European real estate portfolio. This marks the second Gran Meliá hotel in Italy, following Villa Agrippina in Rome.

Courtyard by Marriott Lakeland Completes Renovations: The Courtyard by Marriott Lakeland hotel in Lakeland, Fla., managed by LBA Hospitality, has undergone interior renovations, including updated furniture, finishes, and enhancements to rooms, public spaces, and meeting rooms. The 78-room hotel, owned by Flynn Holdings, now boasts refreshed accommodations, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, meeting space, and a restaurant.
