As Eid Al Fitr approaches, the culinary scene in the UAE is abuzz with excitement, especially in Dubai's bustling neighborhoods like Karama. While most people sleep, kitchens like that of City Makani restaurant are already bustling with activity by 3 am. Muhammad Shahdas, the Managing Partner, shares insights into their preparations for the festive meals, including the iconic biryani.

The Great Biryani Rush

Restaurants across the UAE are gearing up for the anticipated biryani rush during the Eid week. Families and friends come together for elaborate feasts, marking the end of Ramadan with joyous celebrations. This year, with the potential for a nine-day break if Eid falls on April 9 or a six-day break if on April 8, restaurants are expecting large gatherings and high demand for their signature dishes.

The Preparations

At Zam Zam Mandi restaurant, which boasts ten branches across the UAE, the anticipation is palpable. Owner Shaijal Hussain reveals staggering numbers - 21,000 diners expected in the first two days of Eid, along with 12,000 delivery orders. To meet this demand, they've ordered 470 whole lambs and hired an additional 120 kitchen staff.

Special Eid Offerings

City Makani adds a touch of tradition with a special Eid breakfast featuring Kerala dishes and lively celebrations. For lunch, their biryani platter is a hit among families and friends gathering to share a meal. Despite the rush, they accommodate both dine-in and delivery orders, ensuring everyone gets to savor their favorites.

The Festive Spirit

Restaurants like Dhaba Lane and Little Lahore are also gearing up for the festivities. They anticipate increased bookings and sales, with families preferring to dine together during Eid. The atmosphere is vibrant, with early morning preparations to minimize customer wait times and ensure a seamless dining experience.

The Final Touch

As the Eid fervor grips the UAE, restaurants and catering services are working tirelessly to cater to the demand for delicious meals and memorable gatherings. Whether it's a grand feast at a restaurant or a cozy gathering at home, the spirit of Eid Al Fitr shines through in the joy of sharing good food and cherished moments with loved ones.
