Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with multinational consumer goods giant The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G). This collaboration aims to boost Dubai's economic growth, particularly in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. The strategic alliance focuses on SME development, Emirati talent training, vocational learning, and sustainability. By leveraging the strengths and expertise of both entities, the partnership sets a model for public-private initiatives, demonstrating Dubai's commitment to fostering economic growth through innovative collaborations between the government and the private sector.

The partnership was formalized at the P&G Innovation Centre in Dubai, attended by prominent figures, including Omar Channawi, CEO of P&G Middle East, Pakistan, and Global Entrepreneurial Markets, and Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC).

Hadi Badri, CEO of DEDC, emphasized the significance of engaging with leading private sector entities to deepen sector expertise and drive economic growth. The collaboration with P&G is expected to provide SMEs in Dubai access to industry-leading knowledge, mentorship opportunities, and technical expertise, contributing to the development of the thriving FMCG sector. This partnership reflects a commitment to shared success and exemplifies Dubai's approach to collaborations for economic advancement.

Omar Channawi, CEO of P&G Middle East, Pakistan, and Global Entrepreneurial Markets, expressed P&G's commitment to strengthening its contribution to local economies through collaboration with regulators and retailers.
