Dubai Ranks as the Fourth Most-Popular Global Tourist Destination

According to the latest STR Global Hotel Monitoring Update, Dubai's hotels have secured the fourth spot globally in terms of bookings, trailing behind New York, London, and Paris.

This popularity is expected to continue, especially with the favorable weather for beach days, diverse entertainment options indoors and outdoors, and Dubai's ever-expanding array of dining choices.

The city's hospitality offerings are noteworthy, with a continuous growth trajectory. As of the end of October this year, Dubai's hotel sector has expanded to include 149,076 rooms across 818 establishments, a significant increase from the 122,185 rooms in 724 establishments recorded in the same period in October 2019.

Data from the Department of Economy and Tourism reveals that the hotel sector has surpassed pre-pandemic levels in terms of searches and bookings during the third quarter of the year. In the period between January and October 2023, Dubai welcomed 13.9 million visitors, compared to 13.5 million during the same period in 2019.

Dubai's global appeal was further affirmed by securing the top spot for the second consecutive year in the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2023.

The City Briefing for stakeholders and partners highlighted Dubai's pivotal role in the ongoing evolution of global tourism, aligning with the city's ambitious Economic Agenda D33, a ten-year plan for development. What sets Dubai apart is the diversity of accommodation options, allowing visitors to choose from conventional hotels to unique and unforgettable experiences, such as counting fish during a nap or indulging in glamping.
