AED 200 Mn Will Follow The Food Security Agenda

Silver Line Gate Group (SLG), a part of TECOM Group, is building a new manufacturing, warehousing, and corporate offices complex at Dubai Industrial City that will cover 1.37 million square feet, supporting the UAE's aim to develop a self-reliant food security program. One of the top producers of milk powder in the Middle East is SLG Group, which also distributes top brands like Lancy, Gardo, Silva, SLG, Sama, Zain, Al Sahem, etc. Dubai Industrial City's AED 200 million manufacturing plant is scheduled to debut in 2025.

The manufacturing base of SLG Group joins an increasing number of food producers and processing companies that produce and sell foodstuffs throughout the world from the industrial center, fostering international commerce and advancing the Dubai Economic Plan D33. The new facility will support the distribution of wholesale bakery products like butter, whey powder, and vegetable shortening to bakeries, restaurants, ice cream manufacturers, hotels, caterers, and other users throughout the UAE. It will also meet the demands of B2B and B2C customers throughout the GCC, African market, and Southeast Asia.

Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial Leasing - TECOM Group, spoke on behalf of Dubai Industrial City and emphasized that one of the UAE's top concerns is food security. The development of a self-sufficient food program in Dubai is being led by Dubai Industrial City, which is home to an increasing number of food producers situated in Dubai. In order to guarantee that people in the UAE, the Middle East, and beyond always have access to wholesome food items, we are happy to welcome Silver Line Gate Group (SLG) to our expanding network of food producers and distributors.

The general manager of SLG Group, Mrs. Shereen Saeed, stated: "Our company is expanding quickly, driven by an increase in demand for powdered milk and associated goods across the area. Our infrastructure is essential to meeting this demand in terms of productivity and timely delivery. Dubai Industrial City provides us with a fully functional industrial infrastructure that makes it simple to establish a cutting-edge production and logistics hub from which we can more effectively serve many other markets. We are excited by this chapter in the development and international expansion narrative of our firm as Dubai quickly emerges as the region's industrial hub.

The Middle East and Africa dairy ingredients market is anticipated to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.7% between 2020 and 2025, according to Mordor Intelligence. The increased use of newborn milk formula and the acceptance of whey proteins, both of which are fueled by a revived interest in active lifestyles and fitness, both increase the demand for milk products.

More than 300 employments will be created at SLG Group's new plant, which uses cutting-edge technology and fully automated gear and equipment to satisfy the demands of the expanding industry. SLG Group will have easy access to important markets because to Dubai's advantageous position and its comprehensive transportation network, which includes land, air, sea, and soon Etihad Train.

The agenda for food security

The National Food Strategy 2051, which was first unveiled by the UAE's Minister for Climate Change and the Environment Mariam Almheiri in November 2018, is to thank for the country's progress in establishing a capacity for food production and distribution on a global scale.

Dubai Industrial City, a cornerstone of Operation 300bn, is strengthening the local food supply chain by luring regional and international F&B firms to the UAE. For the whole manufacturing and distribution sector, it offers industry-specific infrastructure, industrial property, warehouses, worker housing, and open yards. Moreover, with a comprehensive transportation network that spans land, air, sea, and, eventually, Etihad Train, Dubai Industrial City provides clients with unmatched and practical access to major markets.

In addition to Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai International Academic City, and Dubai Design District, TECOM Group also manages a portfolio of ten commercial districts (d3).
