Accor Plans to Open Three New Projects in Saudi Arabia

The concept for the Rua Al Madinah Project spans over 1.5 million square meters, has 47,000 hotel rooms, and has a direct view of Al Masjid al Nabawi, also referred to as the Prophet's Mosque. 63 percent of the open areas and 37 percent of the constructed area are made up by the masterplan. The project includes a variety of integrated mobility options, including nine guest bus stations and underground parking, and has been developed in accordance with the highest international standards.

"We are very proud to sign the first Swissôtel property and strengthen our Novotel offering in the holy city of Madinah," said Duncan O'Rourke, CEO of Accor's Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Asia-Pacific division for premium, midscale, and economy brands. Our main objective in making these agreements is to support the variety of offerings at Rua Al Madinah's master development while maintaining a long-term partnership with PIF and, therefore, Rua Al Madinah Holding Company.

The Fairmont Rua Al Madinah will include 142 roomy suites and rooms with views of the Prophet's Mosque, as well as a number of dining options, a special guest lounge, a kids club, a fitness facility, and a spa. It will also have 120 branded residences with their own opulent amenities, including a residents' lobby, lounge, kids' club, and fitness center, giving visitors the convenience of home combined with hotel services, making it the first project of its kind in Madinah.

The 328 hotel rooms at Novotel Rua Al Madinah will have a contemporary and inviting design, as well as an all-day dining restaurant and a social center with a food bar and grab-and-go concept. The 466 rooms, suites, and apartments of Swissôtel Rua Al Madinah will provide a clear view of the Prophet's Mosque.

A variety of high-end services and facilities will be offered by the hotel, including an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a private guest lounge, and a lobby lounge café. The initiative intends to help the monarchy recruit 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually by 2030, one of Vision 2030's key goals.
